Default Re: Please help - water leak

I think water is leaking in not from the hoses (even if they may have some wear points or holes) but the gaskets they attach to in the trunk channel that the water runs around (not the attachment to the trunk lid). Remember that water always flows downhill. Without spending much $ at all I'd do what I have done on other cars where this has happened with such seals. Clean up all the areas surrounding those gaskets where they meet the metal with a tooth brush and get all that dried up gunk and crap out of there... I can see it in your photos. Then you have 3 options to seal around that space where the gaskets meet the metal. You can go with a silicone based caulk that won't last very long, a butylene caulk that will last a long long time but is an absolute mess to deal with and get rid of if it doesn't solve the problem, or some cheap Green synthetic Bearing Grease that is waterproof. I'd personally go with the Green Grease that I've used to fix these problems... Stick your finger in it and smear a bead of it all around that gasket and I bet it never leaks again. If you have to go to further other measures it can be cleaned out pretty easily to try something else. I don't think it is coming from the flexible hose. In fact, if you look at those hoses and where they flex at their lowest point you could pole a hole in them to let any water drain out of them and it wouldn't make it into the car, it would run down the left and right trunk channels.

Here's where I think it is leaking and could start leaking on the other side in yellow... clean and grease all around these gaskets... I bet the problem is fixed for a LONG time. But, as always, I could be wrong.

Quite frankly, after seeing your post I'm going to check mine, clean them all up and put a bead of Green Grease around mine as a preventative measure!
