You never said how many miles are on the car and how old the brake fluid is. If the fluid is old/contaminated, replace it. You can do this by an extended bleeding of the system just be careful you don't get air in the lines below the master cylinder's lowest point. Pouring it in slowly will reduce the chance of old fluid mixing too much with the new. Make sure you use DOT-4 only. Might be a good idea to read up on it before you try. There are quite a few posts here in the forum (do a search) about brake fluid replacement (with a few suggestions on the equipment you need that you quite possible don't need if you have a 'helper').Good luck!
