This may or not be your problem, but you should not be able to see this groove. This part of the rubber conduit is more or less identical to the other end of the conduit which has a groove as well and should fit like a grommet, partially inside the hatch body just like the other end of the conduit.

​​​​​​I sealed around those "harnesses/plugs" with green grease. I climbed into the trunk yesterday and had my dad spray water on it. Since the beige plastic trim panels in the trunk are out I have a direct view on the opening where those electrical cords come out and it definitely did not drip out of there.
So I'm thinking it's not those areas.

So basically I sealed all around those guys here (picture is before I sealed):

I only sealed the part that connects to the body of the car, not the one that connects to the hatch of the vehicle but I doubt water could somehow drip out where it does if the hatch part was not tight.
