Default Re: details on manual transmission

Phil
Thank you for sharing your new found wealth of information. It’s been greatly appreciated. With the prolific number of posts that you’ve shared on this subject We are now all students of the University of Phil’s shared knowledge. Great course in what NOT TO DO.

The most crucial bit of information appears to be “DO YOUR HOMEWORK IN DETAIL, ASK QUESTIONS THAT FORUM MEMBERS WANT TO ANSWER AND STEP BACK AND THINK REALLY REALLY HARD BEFORE YOU FEEL COMPELLED TO POUR MOTOR OIL INTO THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN.”

We all thank you for sharing your experience and providing a degree of enlightenment to all of us who didn’t know that motor oil is not the same as transmission fluid. Thank you for taking the $1,000.00 hit for all of us. Your experience has clearly demonstrated that the outcome of motor oil in transmission will be an epic fail.

Thank you for all of the detailed drawings. Those too are appreciated, I know that there must be a few forum members without access to the internet who will be eternally grateful for your shared wisdom.

At the end of this I’m still slightly puzzled. I can’t help but wonder and ask “Why didn’t Phill do this in-depth research before he dumped motor oil into his transmission?” “Why do the research after the fact and continue to make yourself feel terrible about having to spend 1k+ For something that never should have happened.

Thats what I want to know.
Why Phil, why?
