I posted something like this in a different forum, I've gotten help but not to my last question which is ... can I remove the oil level sensor and block off the hole so it is no longer on my car? What, if any, problems might this cause? I know I would need to check oil level with the dipstick ... I already do it this way. I have more trust in the dipstick than a sending unit that leaks and fails at times.

I was going to change the o-ring, but if I can remove the sensor, block the hole, that should reduce any future problems with it ... any help and/or direction is appreciated
