Hey XFForum! I've been driving an '04 Crossfire for the past 5 years and it's been an absolute blast, but as of late a small issue has popped up and I'm not quite sure what it could be, so I'm asking for your expertise. I noticed about 3 months ago that there was a small shudder/vibration that lasted about 0.5-1 seconds long when my XF shifted between 1st and 2nd gear, and the shudder has gotten to about 1-2s long at this point. Specifically, this shudder only happens at moderate/heavy throttle, but when I drive the car like an older person (sorry to the seniors) and keep it below the 2500rpm mark and ease off as the car shifts, it behaves. I'll link a YT video that I took of me accelerating from 2nd from the interior of the car, the audio that my phone picked up might give y'all a clue to the issue, but the issue is NOT as loud as the video makes it seem, all I feel is a subtle vibration like I'm driving over a lightly washboard-y road or super small rumble strip. When I drove the car to show the issue to my dad, the shudder/shake got a LOT heavier when I increased my throttle during the shake, but this shake ONLY happens between my 1st/2nd gear, almost like it can't quite grab 2nd and keep it in line if that makes sense. I haven't noticed anything off with the tach when I accelerate, which is clearly visible in the video I'll link below.
As for remedies we've already tried, my dad recently changed the filter and put in new ATF (I was at work when he did this, but he said the old ATF was grey, not burnt or excessively dirty, but the old filter was really nasty) and the issue still persists after the change. The motor mounts are all good and next up we're going to take a look at the solenoids to see if that might be where the issue lies. I'm assuming it's slipping/losing a gear, but I'm no expert so that's why I'm here.
Has anyone else had this issue who could lend me a bit of their knowledge or any other suggestions on what to look for that might be the cause of this issue? Thanks in advance <3
