Default Re: Battery recommendations

I've tried several different brands. There are only a very few car battery producers (I think - others can chime in), so it doesn't matter much where you buy one (MHO). I currently have a Super Start Extreme 48 H6, P/N 48EXT from O'Reilly's. I've used the EverStart from Walmart, a Duracell from BatteriesPlus, I could go on & on. They all seem to last 4-5 years (which is typical) and my driving habits closely align with yours. (Note: I will state that the original OEM battery in my 2007 Coupe lasted 9 years!). And you can spend as much as you want when purchasing a replacement battery. Just make sure you look to see what fill date is shown on the battery. Avoid any that have sat on a battery shelf or rack in an auto parts store for several months. I always look for a battery that is no longer than 1-2 months since original filling with electrolyte.

I haven't tried an AGM-version battery yet as I'm not convinced the added cost is money well spent. Others can chime on this that have experience with AGM-design batteries.
