Did you ever receive answer on this? I finally got around to replacing the siren of my roadster. I went with the updated siren that has an audible when the doors are locked and unlocked. I pressed the panic button to test it and is it just me or is the "updated" siren not quite as loud as the original one was?
Anyways, loud enough to give you a heart attack when it goes off unannounced.
Would love to know how it protects the roadster when the top is down (if at all). I'd imagine if both windows are up, someone could jump over the road bars but as soon as they would try to open the arm rest, glove box or the doors from the inside the things would go off..I guess that would technically leave enough time for them to remove my stereo screen and on their way out the siren would be ticked off.
