Non ceramic pads will stop in a shorter distance but they make a mess with dust over everything. I have no problems with the pads I have eating into the rotors, they have been on my limited for 70,000 miles and will go another 70,000 from the looks of them. Really good pads, that will stop a car quickly, they just aren't designed for racing all day long on a track as there are other pads made for that.
I have Akebono Euros and they are dust free practically, they stop well enough for me and they have done 30,000 miles or so. The rotor wear is even and smooth. They were on the car before I purchased it and I still have the OEM pads to fit if I want to clean the wheels every week.🙄
