Default Re: ABS and BAS/ESP dashboard lights.

My mistake, the CAB is what I wrongly called an ABS module. Thanks for confirming that it doesn’t need programming, I just checked the VIN number from my diagnostic tool which agrees with the vehicle. Have just removed the 50 amp fuse (no.3) from the engine fuse block which powers up the CAB basically to close down the ABS light on the dash. I know this disables the whole ABS system but leaves the braking system to operate without assistance. My thinking is that without an ABS system I could get the vehicle through its MOT, (the brakes work fine without it and will easily pass the efficiency test), trouble is the …..!!!!!!! dash warning lights are still on! I had looked at the wiring diagram which shows the CAB unit directly connected to the dash lights so assumed that if it had no power then there would be no ABS warning light. On the plus side I was able to close down the wing using the dash switch and the red winky light is off. I will have to check with my MOT testing station to confirm that by making my vehicle a none ABS version, (not that such a beast exists), I can finally get the certificate I need to be able to tax it and get back on the road.
