Les, I have seen a torque wrench ruined by using an extension on it.
You actually mean torque to a certain setting and then using a long breaker bar with a extension turning the bolt another 90 or 180 degrees, I forget which. You also need a flywheel locking gizmo.
Torque wrenches are too expensive to ruin.
