I just installed a new AGM battery in my 2005 roadster. I was surprised to find that the old battery (3 years old), was just sitting on the battery tray with no hold downs and it was free to slide around. There is a narrow rod with a nut on top that comes up from the tray and a double slot on the opposite side that appears to hold some sort of a top type down. The tray itself has a metal plate about 2 X 3 inches that the battery sets on. I'm wondering if there wasn't another tray on top of that that is level and designed to hold the base of the battery in place. Does anybody know how they are supposed to be secured?
