Pull ****, twist left or right for hrs or minutes, if no worky, pull up and push down repeatedly whilst in the twisted position ..

Twist action is supposed to push the carbon(?) pads down to to engage the lower pads to complete the circuit but dust build up often hinders the contacts so they just need a little persuasion is all
