This may be true or not. The only way to confirm the horsepower of a stock SRT6 is to get it on the dyno. It is easier to chassis dyno an engine but one has to allow for driveline losses so the real number is still in the mist. An engine dyno is the only way to get a true reading and I am not about to take my engine out for that. For my driving and on the roads here in SW Missouri and NW Arkansas, the horsepower is quite adequate. I just tell people that the 330 number is the quoted factory HP.

If the SRT6 has a lower rating than the SLK32 AMG, this may have been an agreement between M-B and Chrysler to rate the SRT6 lower than the M-B because M-B would not want the Chrysler product to overshadow the M-B product. If you recall, the joining of the two companies was touted as a linking of equals, but in reality, M-B was the big dog of the pair. Other factors that may come into play relative to the HP readings are the intake and exhaust systems of the two cars. I have not compared them to see how equal, or not, that they may be.
