Hmmm, decisions decisions.
Not knowing where you live, or how bad your winters are, it's hard to say. I know I wouldn't want the Crossfire to be my "only" car for winter driving here in N.E. Ohio. But that's just me. Some people on the forum drive em year round in snowy conditions so it's pretty much a judgment call.
Since you've been driving front wheel drive in the winter, it's going to take some getting used to rear wheel drive again.
I too have purposely not driven an SRT for the very same reasons that you mentioned. I'm very content with my '04 6 spd. and it might take only one ride in an SRT to change all that for me too. Especially with the "give-a-way prices an SRT can be had for. There is nothing else out there that even comes close to it for the price.
