The system works via air pressure/vacuum from a pump located in the right rear of the car. You may have a broken air line if the doors are not locking unlocking with the dash mounted switch. The pump (CLP/SSM) is integrated into the security system. You access the pump by removal of the foam pieces and the felt side pieces below the carpet. You could have a internal problem with the siren/alarm in your car. It is part of the security system and preventing you from opening the locks with the remote. It is located under the black plastic cowl under the windshield. Does your remote sound the sirem/alarm when the red button is pushed/ If no then the alarm may be causing your problem. You can discounet the siren and drive the car just fine with no problems, or replace the siren. I have had my siren/alarm discouneted for years and everything else works just fine. You should also check fuse #9 under the hood to be certain it is OK.
