It could be possible that both bulbs are gone in the license plate lights. If they are, I'd recommend you get replacements that have LED bulbs installed. Here's a link on eBay to a pair I bought: CLICK.

I also attached a copy of the pages in the Owners Manual that talks about the Light Outage Indicator. Any of several lights could be triggering this dash icon.
