A friend has loaned me her '05 Crossfire (base model convertible) while my 2 cars are in the shop (what are the odds ). Anyway she bought it used with about 120K miles on it and from the way it shifts I'd bet the 6 speed's oil has never been changed, so I'd like to do that for her. I have found conflicting information about the car so I called the local dealer and spoke with their parts guy and got the impression this car was put together using different parts from different makers. Bottom line is where can I obtain the right filter and oil pan sealer for this car and do I need to find a Chrysler dealer that was originally authorized to sell this car in order to be assured they know how to change the tranny oil correctly ?? She's been nice enough to loan me this car so I'd like to do this for her because I believe she'd notice an improvement in shifting but I don't want to risk something going wrong which would leave me holding the bag for any problems. I'm located in east Tennesse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all !
PS. I intend to use Redline oil. It's done wonders for the 5 speed in my Beetle.
