Chrome tape works fine on the 'back side', properly placed it won't show. Here are a few links to a seller on ebay showing various thread colors and design. Although I have repaired my handles with the chrome tape, I also have a set of the leather covers I use periodically. The leather covers fit with velcro on the back, and made to fit the Crossfire.
