Re: Intake Pictures
Freemont, You make a good point, however the Needwings tubes are called Cold Air Intakes for a reason. On the right side of the car you can get the three inch silicone or harder rubber gates tube through the radiator frame wall with a little work. It will be a oblong shape when going through the fame and you use a 90 degree preformed piece on the front of the radiator. On the left side you can use a hard rubber Gates hose 24040 VULCO 2.5"to get through the smaller left side radiator frame. The 2.5" hose mates into a standard 3" silicone coupler to the metal tube. By the time the air flows through the Y fitting at the throttle plate any non laminar flow doesn't mean much. I think it is more important to have those metal tubes coated in the heat protective coating offered by Needswings than the small air flow restriction at the reduced intake volume at the radiator frame so that the air entering the engine is cooler/denser than warm air. Even the original set up from the factory draws air from forward of the radiator through those holes in the frame.
Your engine cover does look nice. Good job.
