There are several references to it here on the forum. Best to do the research to see if your opener will accept this and if indeed it’s your problem.

I discovered this after many failed attempts to sync the homelink with my Chamberlain opener

I find myself in the same boat and need this gizmo, I just have to spring for the money.
My wife says it’s a waste of money, but I am the one who gets to park in the garage, the other side of the garage is filled with odds and ends, snow blower, lawn tractor etc.
I use the original remote control. My wife’s newer car opens the door with no problem.
