Poltergiest in my Roadster?
Can someone please diagnose/help with this and explain it in simple terms?
First off, I’m new to the Crossfire, don’t do much wrenching and am just learning about the inner workings of the car, so when weird stuff happens and I can’t research or figure it out I have to ask.
Went out this past Sunday with 2 other sports cars driving in the country and so on. Locked and unlocked the car several times during the day. All went well.
Got home, parked in the garage and went in the house. Came back 5 minutes later to check the oil and the car was locked. I didn’t lock it. the dang thing locked itself.
Unlocked with the fob, raised the hood and while checking the dipstick the lights start blinking and the car locks itself. Thinking I accidentally pressed the fob which was in my pocket, I unlocked the car and put the fob on the bench. About a minute later the lights blink and the car locks itself. I did this several more times just to make sure I was not hallucinating and got the same result. No siren or noise, just some blinks and the car locks itself after about a minute.
Got out the owners manual and narrowed it down to the area of the anti lifting/towing switch/thingy/sensor I think. But I never armed it. When I say never I mean like never ever. Something else must have caused it to arm itself. And then after it armed itself, I would unlock the car and then the car would lock itself, over and over, like a spoiled little child playing a game.
So, is this normal? Is it a fluke? Is it a sign that something bad is inevitably going to happen?
