Default Re: Red Head Girlfriends

Belongs to my daughter, I just take care of her a lot.
She's a hunting Irish Setter, not a show Irish Setter. You can drag a pheasant feather along the ground for a quarter mile...let her out and she won't stop till she finds the feather.
She'll be 2 years old next month. When she was about 6 months old my son in law let her off leash near a High School.....she brought him back a bag of Marijuana.
Irishes are upland game bird dogs and hunt by smelling the wind, so they run back and forth all day in front of you to catch the scent, then freeze and "set". till you tell them to flush the bird.....marathon runners.

She will run 3-5 miles while you walk 1 mile.

More people have retrievers as pets I think because they are calmer and less active. Labrador and Golden Retrievers .....they don't find the birds for you to shoot. They sit in the boat or by the lake waiting for you to kill the bird, then they swim out to pick up the dead bird. That makes for a lazy fat dog that can float in water better .
