Here is a helpful note: EVERY CROSSSFIRE MADE has the same CLP/SSM. Coupe? Roadster? Base? Limited? SRT? 2004 to 2008
All the same part.
I bought one for $120 with part of the wiring harness attached this last time, came from a Coupe, put it in my ROadster - works fine.
BCMs appears to have a variety of versions. Just beware.............
Pizzaguy, I'm wondering if the "Remote Keyless Entry Relay": could be at fault here. It is located under the plastic in the underhood fuse box and supplies power to the SKREEM module all the time.(It is the black one, not the yellow) If that rely got messed up by a voltage spike when he replaced the car battery then the SKREEM is not powered up at all time, but does power up when he moves his key "vertical" through the ignition switch . If that rely is not getting power to the SKREEM, then his FOB won't work until he powers the SKREEM with the ignition switch. Which seems to be what is happening.
I'm not sure how to test that relay, but I would go there first, before getting into the SSM/CLP. What do you think?
