If you skip taking the car out in the rain (use the wife's car) and use ceramic brake pads you hardly ever have to wash the car, works for me. I washed the car once last year and have not washed it this year, I wait for the hot weather when the places that cannot be dried by hand get dried by the heat of the sun. I also use Fluid Film in the door bottoms and the hatch lid bottom. Generally under the hood is cleaner than the car, clean under the hood frequently and it looks like it just came from the factory. Look at Valks car to see what can be done, I will never get it to that level but I try.
Wash the wheel well lips and the gaps in the front well liner, dirt gets in there and gets damp and starts rust. A little oil on screws and bolts you take out helps as well.
