Home made Dual Cup Holder for console bin.
I've been looking at different cup holders for my Roadster and I couldn't find any that I liked. So I made my own.
There will be more pictures after the instructions below.
I made it out of wood, felt and a Layoshe Dual Cup Holder that I found on Amazon. Here's the link:

I removed the storage bin using plastic trim removal tools. Be very careful and take your time. This can be done without removing the bin by looking at the diagram that I have made. I don't know how well I translated Standard to Metric, so please double check before cutting.
I removed the bin to make it easier for me to measure, make adjustments etc...
I used 2 pieces of 3 1/2 inch X 3/4 inch wood cut to length. I taped them together with painters tape for test fitting and shaping. After getting the shape and size correct, I sanded all the sharp edges to prevent premature wear to the felt. I wrapped the felt around the insert and tried fitting it into the bin. I had to sand off more wood until it fit snug but not forced in.
I then used liquid nails and 2 deck screws to hold the pieces together. I used an air hose to remove any saw dust and then wiped it with a micro fiber towel. Using 3M Super 77 Adhesive I sprayed the wood and the felt and wrapped the insert putting the seem on the bottom. Make sure to use an adhesive that can stand the high temps of a car.
I then drilled a hole where each mounting tab is in the dual cup holder piece. Then I screwed the cup holder to the insert. DO NOT over tighten the screws or it will break the plastic!
IMPORTANT:
Make sure that when you mount the cup holder that it is off center and does not cover the console door. (Picture No. 8).
I like my cup holder It doesn't get in the way, it can easily be taken in and out, if it breaks it can easily be replaced and it cost less than $20.00 to make.
Yes, I did vacuum my car after I was done! LOL NOTE: Some pics are missing because I wasn't aware that you can only have 10.
