So when the car has the shifter in drive, I had to hold it to the left for it to stay in manual gear going down one. So if I was in drive (say 4th) and then took the shifter left it went to 3. if I let go (not pressing it left) it goes back to drive. if I press right it goes back to drive first not holding the gear I was in. so in this scenario 3rd.

The shifter not centered means there was twice as much travel moving the shifter left as there was right. It would not stay in a gear in manual mode and I couldn't find out how it was supposed to work. The dealer said they had worked on replacing something on the transmission so that finally made sense.

They are going to look at the light and the transmission manual (tap right and left not centered or staying in gear issue).

Again I wasn't sure how the tapping side to side was supposed to work. I searched quick but couldn't find out. My other xfire was a 6 speed so I didn't have a reference point other than it did not work as expected.

As for the light it came on after I was driving it pretty hard then it was be on and off and on and off with no rhyme or reason. but I can tell the supercharger was not engaged when it was off because it had an upgraded pulley and you could hear it whine. So to me it felt like limp mode if that is thing.
