Re: Rear Spoiler Button Not Working, Spoiler Comes Up Randomly
Hello there pizzaguy
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my question, I really do appreciate it.
I completely agree about the complexity and accuracy of the battery health check, luckily for me that came as a free perk so I didn't have to spend a penny on that, thought I immediately doubted how in depth it would be. The same goes for the visit to the automotive electrical center, it didn't cost me a penny, I was just given a rough estimate on what they would do if I sent my car in. Those two things were only helpful in gauging that they didn't have a clue. I'm in the UK and my car is right hand drive so you can imagine how scarce parts or even knowledge can be on these cars when dealing with bog standard garages and centers.
I'm aware that this issue is extremely well documented and frequent with crossfire owners, this car has been in the family for 10 years now and no one has had a single issue with it. I've only recently joined the Crossfire forum, I am completely new to fixing or repairing these cars.
My first port of call is definitely the battery, though it's not over four years old, I believe it's 2 or 3, it has previously had a known fault, which up until this issue now, had appeared to have cleared up by itself. I knew this going into having the battery "tested" so you can imagine how skeptical I was about the test when they came back saying the battery is in good order.
I shall follow your advice and make sure that the posts and clamps are cleaned with no ingress of dirt using a wire brush, thank you.
I do not currently have any BAS/ESP lights or warning lights appearing on my dash at any point (I'd like to keep it that way) only the flashing red light of the spoiler button.
