The battery actually was old and shot. Just after replacing it the alternator failed. One weird thing. When I first put the key in ignition I checked the clock and time was right. When I recycled and tried a second time to start the car the digital displays all went grey and both the center console and trunk locked down. Thanks for all of the feedback.
