Greetings all,

I'm hoping someone can tell me what might have happened to my engine to determine if it's worth trying to have fixed.

It started with a tapping sound, which transformed into a loud knocking. It seemed to be coming from the large wheel in the center that has the four bolts with nuts. The next thing I saw smoke and you can see that oil has spewed from the engine and is resting in the pan at the bottom and elsewhere.

Any ideas on what might have happened?
