I've loved this forum for so many years, and I've finally setup an account because I've been able to fix something I hadn't found on the forum yet.

Background, I've had a crossfire in my family for over 12 years, it's the 2005 model, it has 290k miles on it and it still looks gorgeous and runs well with lots of help from the lovely folks on this forum.

We had replaced the radio with an external player many years ago, just a standard Sony one to enable Bluetooth. And last week, suddenly the radio wasn't playing any sound from the speakers. The visual display was still functioning as expected, it would even say my phone was connected via Bluetooth as usual, but again zero sound. My first thought was to check the radio fuse, and looking to the diagram, I saw two listed as Radio in hopes that it was just a worn fuse:

Cavity 5 with a 15 Amp fuse for Blue Radio
Cavity 8 with a 15 Amp fuse for Blue Radio

Both of those fuses looked just fine and I thought, 'Oh shoot it's going to be something worse'! But then... I saw Cavity 23 with a 15 Amp Blue fuse for Sound Booster (Amplifier) and thought that could be the culprit. Sure enough, that fuse was clearly done for! I swapped it out with one of the extras and the radio sound returned - success!
