I have found the Navigation system to be quite effective and has helped me find some very out of the way addresses. I have not had any issue with it. I program the address and off it goes. I suppose the more sophisticated ones are nicer with more features, but I'm happy I don't have a big screen on my dash to take up space. For my money, the navigation system is fine.

I found the system easy to set up and I did not get lost.

As for your system. Maybe it's your disks not the system.
