Re: Made a battery Boo Boo
More battery woes. The other battery as returned to the suppliers depot (A 30 mile each way drive) and a creditnote was given. I have been assured the money I paid will be returned to my bank in a couple of days. The reason I had to reurn it physically was that Ebay had listed it as being suitable for my car, but the battery supplier hadn't and coudn't take responibility for ebay saying it was suitable. I was given a delivery sticker to send it but Royal Mail classeit as unsuitable for delivery.
I bought another Excide battery which is 77ah and fitted it. It's been fitted about a week and has started every day until today. It is very frosty here but on turning the ignition key......yada......no ignition lights or anything?I can only asume that something is fraining the battery and I am beginning to wonder whether I changed the battery needlessly.I presume the flashing red light when the battery was ok is an alarm or imobiliser and wonder whether this is draining the battery?
If the car isn't frozen up in the morning I may take off the new battery again and give it a charge.Even if I can get it strted again I appear to have an ongoing problem? I have another small car which sits outside in all weathers and starts first time every time. Luckily this has been a useful backup or else I would have been stuck at home! It's got me flummoxed????
