Thanks for the help and link - I guess topic was already covered.
For anyone following: I used a heat-shrink connector to secure the broken ends (after holding in place temporarily with thin layer of electrical tape). Used a heat gun - luckily no vulnerable parts in the area, though I did insulate the rest of the vacuum line and nearby plastics. After the repair, covered the vulnerable portion of the tubing (under battery in the event of a future leak) with braided electrical wire cover for good measure, (in photo, you can see my trickle charger)


Now time to put the battery back and take the dormant roadster out of hibernation for a spin before predicted snow this coming week.
