Overfilling will not be good for this engine. I change my oil on a level slab using a 'TOPSIDER" having a flexible tube inserted into the oil dipstick tube (bottomed out) until it is mostly all gone. I only use 8 quarts Mobil1 0W40. First, I take the oil filter out before sucking out the oil, then 8 quarts are poured into the large filter opening until only 8 quarts are in. I place a new filter onto the oil filter cap (don't forget the new 'O' rings) and tighten to specifications. When you change the filter, make sure you use new 'O' rings included with the filter. The large
cap 'O' ring goes in the second slot (the first one is right under the lip of the cap), IF you place the large 'O' ring in the wrong slot, it'll eventually leak all over the engine bay. Run the engine for a few to circulate the oil (maybe 30 seconds?), then shut it down and manually check the level. There has been a number of ppl who overfilled the oil and wound up with a stuck oil level sensor (located in a very hard place to get, the inside of the space above the oil pan). There is a LARGE help/tutorial document collection on this site, it also has the complete (if you can call it complete) service manual set available in .pdf format, for FREE! Good luck and make sure you get that extra oil out QUICKLY.
