I know this thread is 14yrs old but I am responding to make a piece of info known. In regards to:

"The original- A 193 545 01 32 - This is Mopar: 05103480AA which rules to 05140827AA used in 04. Although the unit has a MB part no, MB do not recognise this any longer, this unit is obsolete and no longer produced!
The replacement- A 193 545 05 32 - This is Mopar: 05135427AA which rules to 05161125AA which in turn rules to 05161125AB used in 05 - 08."

You will find the newer model number listed for the 2004 but it will not work on the earlier 04's, maybe the newer. The A 193 545 01 32 in no way will interchange with the newer A 193 545 05 32 controller. The connectors are different and you would have to splice in the newer connector. Not a job I'd like to do. I have both in my possession because the net lead me to believe they interchange. They do not.
