Yesterday I took some time to change the oil in my 2007 Coupe. Oil change went somewhat messy as the catch pan I was using under the car was plenty large enough for the oil volume but only had one small drain hole for the oil to drain into the pan. Oil flowed out of the engine oil pan faster than the oil draining into catch pan. Caught me by surprise (I usually use another drain pan that has 2 drain holes in it for the oil to drain thru, but I was lazy digging it out of the backside of my work bench), so some oil ended up on my driveway when the drain pan overflowed. Senior Moment! Anyway, I finished up the oil change and installed a new Mann filter element, torqueing the filter cap to 25 N-m. Removed all my wrenches & stuff, started up the Coupe & saw no evidence of any oil leaks anywhere.
I then took some time to do some underbody inspections with the front end up on ramps. No leaks visible at the transmission or differential. All the front suspension hardware looked to be in good working order with no looseness found in the wheel bearings (jacked up front sides one-at-a-time to check for any bearing play). Backed the Coupe off the Rhino ramps, put the ramps in the garage & then put all my tools away. Consolidated all the old oil & empty oil bottles for transport to the County recycle center.
That left only the infamous FSS reset task to perform. I always hate this final PM as the system seems to know how to irritate me. But it went smooth! Must have done something wrong!
