I now am looking at replacing the top on my '05. I don't wish to attempt the glue-in remedy as I know I'll make a mess of it! I am in the hottest part of the country - the Palm Springs area of Southern California. My XF only has 18K miles, has always been garaged (with the top always in up position), never left out in the blazing sun for long, but I guess time is an enemy regardless, so the rear window is beginning to separate from the top. I have been hearing and reading so many positive reviews about the BAS tops, so have been attempting to do some comparison shopping. I see that there is also a top made in the US by EZ-On that has received good reviews. Does anyone have experience with those or should I just go the BAS route? Then, since I am mechanically "un-enclined", will need to find a local shop that will do the work using a top that I supply. Caruso's Auto tops and upholstery in Palm Desert is one that locals recommend. If anyone here in the So. Cal. area who can recommend a shop or who has tips for me would be appreciated. Wish there was a bigger XF community here as there is in the Midwest and Florida areas. Thanks in advance!
