You can watch video detected or see still images from the SD card on a smartphone using the Wyze App
The Wyze app on your phone or Ipad is the control center for the Wyze cameras features and functions and a subscription is not needed
The advantage to a subscription is that the footage is stored in the Wyze cloud so if your cameras are stolen with the SD cards inside you still have the footage stored in the cloud and it isn't gone
