Default Re: Car Cover Gold Shield 5L Review

One year review!

OK I have a handle on the CarCover.COM website. They offer a lifetime warranty with the cover I bought. See marketing info pic below:

Car Cover Gold Shield

The lifetime warranty is the same owner and non-transferable. So after a year of hard use in the South Carolina Sun, my started disintegrating and leaving crap all over my car. Here is the top part of the cover.

YEACH nobody wants that

So I contacted them and sent pics and my purchase information. They approved my warranty with a catch:

After careful analysis of your situation, we are pleased to inform you that you qualify for a replacement cover. As per our terms and conditions of your warranty, a fee of $44.99 per cover is applicable based on the order date.
To proceed with the payment, kindly contact us at 1-800-916-6041 Ext: #8. Please be advised that our department operates Monday To Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM EST.
So I paid the 45 bucks and just got my new cover and it's on my car.

Back under wraps

Conclusion

It's a scam.

The cover did not even last a year, it was breaking down after 10 months. Of course it's South Carolina and been a very hot year. So the original price is $150. I paid for a new replacement at $45. So basically at the original price I had bought cheap cover at several times over. The $45 replacement price is possible cost plus shipping with a profit margin of 10%. If you look online on amazon there are several cheap car covers in the same price range that should last a year in the full sun.

The cover was not bad for the 10 months it lasted but still at 150 bucks I expected several years of life.
