Re: Replacing motor mounts
Be advised there is a glitch to this you should be aware. The original Mercedes mount part 203 241 11 13 is discontinued. The replacement part with the same referenced number is made by Lemforder as a replacement. I bought those from FCPEuro but the Lemforder part is larger and seems more stout AND IT WILL NOT go in DRIVERS SIDE without pulling the engine. It may work on the passenger side as there is more room there, but on the driver's side even when removing the steering stabilizer and disconnecting the tie rod from the Pitman arm and jacking the engine up as high as I could go ( you are limited by the distance closed at the firewall ) there is not enough room on the drivers side to get that Lemforder replacement engine mount into position.
The original style engine mounts 203 241 11 13 are still available after market made in Taiwan by Tenacity Auto Parts Co. They will slide in to both the driver side and passenger side from under the car by simply jacking up the engine, (please do that carefully, there is a limit as to how high you can go without damage). I found these original style engine mounts on ebay and bought two pairs just in case I need them in the future.
