Happy day xf friends! I am looking for a fuel line part
A1704701075 from MB. Does anyone know where to find a replacement? It is a high-pressure fuel hose with fittings on both ends from the engine to the top of the fuel rail. Looking forward to hearing back and thanks to everyone participating.
Fire Hazard: Friends please check your fuel line for a spongy soft spot in the middle of the line. A wide swath of fuel was spraying on the ground, when I backed out of the garage. The fuel hose had split lengthwise spraying atomized gas everywhere under the hood. Crazy, that the engine never sputtered a bit.. See photo below for location.
Grateful, to report no disaster! It would have been really inconvenient to have this problem on the road-trip I took from Alaska to Washington. My '05 Roadster has just over 35K miles on the odometer and I try to stay away from ethanol gas if I can.
Thanks to my new friends at
"NeedsWings!" for stocking a new COH, made in Germany, fuel line part and sent it via USPS. It was only four days time to arrive on Hawaii Island and the fuel line was easily replaced with a 14mm and a 17mm wrench.
Thanks to M60A3Driver for locating the part replacement. Also a great idea from another forum member, for suggesting local wrecking yards for parts availability..
Aloha.
Fuel line split in the middle.
