Well said, I tried to pull up a chair, but the problem is I spend a great deal of time dragging my *** on the floor, tampering with the car. Small things, I reckon, but I guess every pickle makes a mickle.
This is an updated list of my recent "pickles":
Since my joining this forum:- I have already bought the bin which will replace the cupholder, and it looks flush.
- Purchased the CPS and checked RCM’s soldering problems just in case (mine looks as new). Saving up a bit to have it sent to D.J Tighe (ASAP)
- Changed old plate light with LEDs.
- New interior LED lighting.
- Cleaned all vents and drainages.
- Checked and cleaned the air intake system, including the sensor.
- Got hold of windscreen spindle grommets and wiper screw rubber tops.
- Installed "bleeper" when opening/locking doors.
- Repaired subwoofers.
- Purchased a fire extinguisher and installed it.
- Repaired headlight leak.
- New steering damper installed.
- Rear diffuser installed.
- Wheel rims freed from 18 years of crap (got them out and scrubbed like hell).
- 9-Drive installed (oh, what fun it is to ride...!).
- Metal seat logos installed.
- Chrysler seat belt protectors.
- New colour wheel decals.
- Anti-wildlife whistles installed (ultrasounds, no apparent noise for humans. One too many wild boars in my area).
- Engine deep cleaning.
- Body side Karmann decals.
- Boot cover.
- Boot net to keep things steady.
- Tire temp and pressure sensors.
- Door-opening warning lights.
- Gear shift rubber protector (original is mint, and I intend to keep it like that).
- Extra ground wire to engine bay.
- 74 mm throttle body.
- Headlights restoration.
Future projects:- Still looking proactively for an alarm siren (I disassembled it, and it was a mess). Till I find the part, I’ve done the relay trick with a buzzer for locking bleep.
- Oil catch can (paid for and waiting)
- DCAI (paid for and waiting)
- Eurocharged tune stage 1.(paid for and waiting)
Anyway, thank you all for your words of encouragement and, again, for your words of wisdom inside this forum.
Please find below some pics related to items above...
nice for keys and remote
haven't seen a boar for days
extra privacy at two bolts and a sheet of plastic
no more clanking sounds in the boot
Dear, oh dear...
silly mod, but I like it.
No nitro in Spain, but at first glance it looks like it ;-)
Keeping things nice and tidy
A tribute to Karmann (and a tinge of colour, together with the wheel caps).
They add a lively touch to an otherwise "grey" body
