Re: esp-bas code 1330 Wackamole
The air bag light is finally out. Kept clearing the codes in the ORC over and over, some how it woke up, I guess if you hit the mole with a stick enough it does something.
No more Air Bag Light and no more BAS/ESP.
Cured codes 1330, B10FA and B10F3. Don't know about code U3F00.
Here is some of what was checked. Both wheel speed sensor wires from CAB to ORC were good. All four wheels speed sensors are good. Passenger air bag turned/off/light then lit up. Wires for the driver side squib good. Could not find anything to fix. Did replace master cylinder and booster (used ones) to fix the code1330.
Just found out that when you pull out the ORC connector, some of the paired wires are shorted to each other. This is why the problem with my #8 (permalink) described a short between #45 and #46 wires. if you cut a 3/16 strip of plastic from a laundry detergent bottle push them into the slot it opens the switch so you can measure for shorts or opens in wire harness. Both end of connectors should be open so you don't sent stray voltage to sensitive electronics.
Thank You zip439 for your support, it kept me headed in the right direction with new ideas.
Now my used master cylinder refuses to move fluid to bleed the brakes. Both petal pressing and vacuum at the valve produce no fluid. Bad master cylinder? Missing rod? The brakes seem to work but I can't take it on the road. When starting to pump with engine off the petal did move up a little, the petal is firm. It should move fluid. The master cylinder was primed before installing. rebuilt master cylinders are available.
New Update: When installing the master cylinder I lost the bench top prime hooking up the brake lines. Performed a new bench top prime in the car, hooked up the brake lines, bleed the brakes and now my petal travel is about two inches and firm. Just a guess that air in the master cylinder blocked fluid flow to the wheels.
With regards to code B10FA , found that 2008 manual page 8O-235 step 5 is wrong. My Airbag Off indicator Lamp DID NOT illuminate. Removed the “Load tool ORC 8443-33”. Put every thing back together and turned off the passenger air bag, then the light lit up, nothing wrong with the whole circuit. Not broken.
Going to get a new master cylinder and a rebuilt power booster if I can find one. Better to replace now then 5 years from now, will still have the used units.
Hope to publish soon my method for fixing the low petal fix, do not know if this present fix will continue after I drive in the spring. Hope this will help people with the same problems.
Thank you again zip439
