Now that I know I have a limited edition, I'd like to find out what the abbreviations mean:
ZH
NE9L
L1
M1
Does anyone here know?
I found this answer:
The NE9L is the VDC (Vehicle Descriptor Code) within the VIN#. N = Left Hand Drive, E= 5 speed Automatic, 9 = Coupe, L = 3.2L V6 SOHC 18 Valve
So just what does
ZH stand for?
Probably simple question, but still a question.
I have found that ZH is a type of Chrysler's platform:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...sler_platforms
I also asked AI and received the answer:
The
ZH platform in Chrysler refers to a vehicle platform used specifically for the
Chrysler Crossfire, a compact rear-wheel-drive sports coupe and roadster produced from
2003 to 2008. The ZH platform was unique as it was heavily based on the
Mercedes-Benz R170 platform, which was used for the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. This collaboration was a result of the Chrysler-Mercedes partnership under DaimlerChrysler.
Key Details of the ZH Platform:
- Shared Engineering:
- About 80% of the components of the Crossfire came from the Mercedes-Benz R170 SLK.
- The drivetrain, suspension, and many electronic components were directly derived from Mercedes.
- Drivetrain and Performance:
- The platform supported engines such as the 3.2L V6 (215 hp) and the high-performance supercharged 3.2L V6 in the Crossfire SRT-6 (330 hp).
- A 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission was available.
- Construction:
- The ZH platform was assembled at the Karmann factory in Osnabrück, Germany, further emphasizing its European engineering roots.
- Unique Styling:
- While mechanically similar to the SLK, the Chrysler Crossfire featured a distinct design with a signature fastback roofline and "boat-tail" rear end.
This platform is a prime example of the cross-brand engineering practices that occurred during the DaimlerChrysler era. While the Crossfire was not a massive commercial success, it remains a unique entry in Chrysler's lineup due to its blend of American styling and German engineering.
The
M1 vehicle category means:
Vehicles used for carriage of passengers, comprising not more than eight seats in addition to the driver's = 9.

Maybe this will be useful to someone, since no one here knew...
Oh, and we should also explain what Crossfire means - in Poland it means no more than "Ogień krzyżowy".
On the Internet I found this information that the 2004 models with equipment called Base, in 2005 with the same equipment were called Limited.
So in 2004 there was no division into Base and Limited versions, and all 2004 cars were richly equipped.
So my car is BASE but in fact LIMITED.
