I have the originals from Mopar for both my SRT6 and Limited and always use them on long trips. Which can be a hassle as you don't want to leave them get wet and then dry on the car. I always stop and remove them if they get wet. The only paint abrasion you may experience with the originals are low down on the finders where they attach to the undercarriage right at the wheel well. I live on a dirt road and no matter how slow I drive some dust/grit will get behind the bra down low at the wheel well. I have had to get some of the elastic attachments replaced at an auto upholstery shop as they wore out and lost elasticity.
Clear vinyl bras (clear bras) work really well, but do need replacing with time, are not completely fool proof, and I think on the Crossfire need to be professional installed. Pre-cut kits are available. I recently had the Limited's front bumper repainted and put a clear bra on it. I still use the Mopar bra when on those longer trips. The SRT6 has both "Xpel Ultimate Plus" paint protective film and Ceramic Pro coating on the entire car, but I still use the Mopar bra coming and going. the bra gets removed when I get to where I'm going; Car show, Crossfire event etc.
PS a group will be in Eureka Springs come June. Check out the events thread and hope to see you there.
