SRT-6 Supercharger and CLS/remote issues
I’m having a few issues with my SRT-6 coupe. The supercharger and CLS issues seem separate, but I’ll let you be the judge.
as background, the car is one owner and has 156,000 miles. no mods other than K&N air filters.
I’ve had issues with the supercharger cutting out (actually more off than on) for a while and assumed it was the IC water pump but hadn’t gotten to it. I can feel it cut on, then back out again when on the highway.
this past fall the main water pump went out. While I was in there I also put in a new IC pump and isolation kit from needswings. Of course, two of the water pump bolts snapped when snugging them down. (Yeah I knew about the factory torque spec issue, doh!) and had to weld a nut onto them to get them out. The battery was disconnected during the whole process.
afterwards, the supercharger is still off more than on, and I can’t feel the IC pump running. So I’m thinking maybe there is still some air in the system, or perhaps try the alway-on mod?
after this work, the key fob remotes stopped working (though honestly, I can’t say if they worked the last time I used them before the work and then didn’t the first time after). I can open the door with the key and start and drive as normal. Locks lock automatically and operate from the dash switch as they should and I can hear the CLS pump run. It’s not gotten wet (though I did have to change it and the plugs some years ago because it did get flooded and all the contacts were toast. (I posted about this fob issue separately a bit ago, but never solved it, maybe this new context brings new ideas?).
I've run through all the methods for reprogramming the keys and put in new batteries with no luck.
Not a new issue, but perhaps related? I can occasionally hear clicking behind the glove box, usually noticable at low speeds. Sounds like a Geiger counter. Could that be the BCM, and could that be related to the CLS / fob remote issue?
and then there’s that washer that’s been floating around inside the hatch since it was new, but we’ll not go there. LOL.
thanks in advance for any advice and bring on the questions!
