So I drove a few blocks for a meeting and parked for 2 hours. Came out and put the key in the ignition and nothing. No lights. Have new battery, RCM only 6 months old.
Disconnected the battery and tried to think of what it could be. After 5 minutes connected the battery and everything was good. Anyone have any idea of what to look for?
This happened to me when I first got my car. The negative cable was loose at the battery terminal. I tightened both cables at the terminal and all was good.
Here's a tip: When you put your battery cables on after removing them, tap them down so that a little bit of the terminal is above the battery cable connector. Battery terminals are a bit conical in shape, so if the cables aren't seated correctly, vibrations from driving will make them slide up and lose connection. That's what happened to mine.
