Finally replaced the vent at the top of the console - I'd broken two of the fins with a phone holder that was too heavy. Basically a very quick operation - remove the radio, remove two screws, snap off the center portion with the switches, and remove two more screws. No wires need to be disconnected, just gotten out of the way. Vent just pulls out easily. Got the replacement from EBay.
