Both, thanks for the reply. OP on the reference thread answered and yes it was the canister purge valve, not the be confused with the vapor purge solenoid (engine bay). As for clamp, I will be replacing them all with proper high pressure clamps. I have been collecting them since I did my oil catch can mod. As for doing this repair, I will get it done myself. I had asked for advice on minimizing gas spillage on repairing the canister.
As for minimizing the spillage from the canister, I don't know if this will work or not, maybe try using a non electric vacuum pump. Get some long tubing and put it into where it was leaking from and try pumping out what you can.
